Carlo Verri è nato a Milano nel 1952. Si è accostato presto alla fotografia, intorno ai diciotto anni, abbinando questa passione a quella per lo spettacolo in generale e per la musica in particolare. Da quasi trent’anni è collaboratore della rivista Musica Jazz. Il suo catalogo contiene foto di Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins, Bill Evans, Freddie Hubbard, Dizzy Gillespie, Art Pepper, Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, Regina Carter, Benny Goodman e molti altri musicisti... più di 500.Sin dagli anni ’70 il suo interesse per il jazz si è sviluppato non solo in ambito fotografico ma anche come pubblicista, curatore di interviste e organizzatore di concerti.
RICCARDO SCHWAMENTHAL
Riccardo Schwamenthal è nato a Vienna nel 1937, ma vive a Bergamo dalla metà degli anni Quaranta. Le varie attività di cui si occupa rivelano il suo vasto concetto di cultura. Il jazz è il suo interesse principale, ma svolge anche ricerche nel campo del folklore, della musica e della fotografia.
L'interesse di Schwamenthal per il mondo del jazz è cominciato verso la metà degli anni Cinquanta, quando si è concentrato sul jazz come forma musicale e ha scoperto lo stretto legame tra il suo amore per il jazz e la sua grande passione per la fotografia. Da allora Schwamenthal ha fotografato sia compositori che musicisti. Ha ritratto molti artisti da Louis Armstrong e Duke Ellington a John Coltrane e Thelonious Monk, non solo quando hanno suonato a Milano o in Italia ma anche seguendoli nelle loro tappe europee. Riccardo continua a fotografare gli artisti jazz che si esibiscono nella sua città e nei dintorni di Bergamo e organizza concerti ed eventi legati alla musica jazz.
Le fotografie di jazz di Schwamenthal sono state pubblicate da molte riviste specializzate in Europa, Giappone e Stati Uniti e sono state usate come illustrazioni per libri, copertine di album e anche nel film Last Date su Eric Dolphy. Le sue immagini sono state lodate dalla critica ed esposte in tutto il mondo. Le sue foto sono pubblicate regolarmente sulle riviste italiane Musica Jazz e Ritmo.
Riccardo vive a Bergamo, e ha diretto l'ufficio stampa per il Bergamo Jazz Festival dal 2002 al 2006.
Dal 2005 lavora con l'agenzia americana CTSIMAGES, che rappresenta nomi prestigiosi della fotografia jazz come Ray Avery, Burt Goldblatt e Herman Leonard. Per la stessa agenzia cura gli archivi fotografici dei suoi cari amici Gianni Cardani e Sergio Pedroli.
Riccardo Schwamenthal was born in Vienna (Austria) in 1937, but has been living in Bergamo, Italy since the mid 1940's. The various activites he is involved with show his wide-ranging concept of culture. Jazz is his one main interest, but he also carries out research in the field of folk lore, music and photography.
Schwamenthal's interest in the world of jazz started in the mid 1950's, focusing on jazz as music and he discovered his dedication to this kind of music closely linked to his great passion for photography. Since then Schwamenthal has been taking pictures both of composers and players. He photographed visiting American jazz artist from Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington to John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk, not only when they played in Milan or elsewhere in Italy, but also during their concerts in various countries of Europe. Riccardo continues to photograph jazz artists performing in his home town and in the surroundings of Bergamo and organizes jazz concerts and related events.
Schwamenthal's jazz images have been published by many specialized magazines in Europe, Japan and the United States and also been used for illustrating books, record jackets and notably in the Dutch film “Last Date” on Eric Dolphy. Riccardo's images have been critically acclaimed and exhibited worldwide. His photographs are published regularly in the Italian journals Musica Jazz and Ritmo.
Riccardo resides in Bergamo, Italy and directed the press office for the Bergamo Jazz Festival from 2002 to 2006.
Since 2005 he has been working with the American agency CTSIMAGES that represents prestigious names of jazz photography such as Ray Avery, Burt Goldblatt and Herman Leonard. For the same agency he manages the photographic jazz archives of his close friends Gianni Cardani and Sergio Pedroli.

Nato a Copenhagen nel 1943. Lavora dal 1963 come fotografo free lance per quotidiani e riviste. Inoltre lavora per il settore discografico con copertine e pubblicazioni. Le sue fotografie sono state utilizzate come copertine per LP e Cd. Tra gli altri, per artisti del calibro di Miles Davis e Leonard Bernstein fino a Jimi Hendrix. Nel 2004 ha ricevuto il premio Ben Webster (premio che, normalmente, viene dato a musicisti).
