Agency founded by a group of photographers specialized in jazz photography. Some of them are press photographers who belong to the Italian Association of Journalists and to professional bodies, others have a long experience in art, music and theater photography. All of them share a passion for jazz that has made them capable of capturing the essence of improvisation, a distinctive feature of the music they love. The Agency offers its photographic archive and the experience of its members to those who work in the fields of music and performing arts. Moreover, it offers a wide range of personal and collective exhibitions. One of these, “Il Jazz dagli anni ’60 a oggi” (“Jazz from the Sixties to Today”), which saw the contributions of some of the most important figures of European jazz photography (Gorm Valentin e Jan Persson), collects extraordinary images of the performers who made the history of jazz, such as D. Ellington, M. Davis, C. Mingus, J. Hodges, E. Fitzgerald, and many others. Several photographers of Agenzia Phocus already work for the press offices of important music (classic, rock, jazz, reggae) events and performing arts festivals. The Agency also offers the long and precious experience of its members for didactic purposes. Among the Agency’s activities, and already scheduled for this year, are several music photography workshops, which will be held during some of the most acclaimed Italian jazz festivals. |
